If You Get Informal & Shared Mobility, Get Yourself to GloCon

A landmark event is happening in October: the 1st Global Convening on Informal & Shared Mobility (GloCon 2026). This gathering is for anyone who is passionate about equitable, sustainable mobility. GloCon will be from October 26–28 in Bangkok. Researchers, policymakers, operators, and transport sector thought leaders are coming together to explore how informal and shared mobility systems (ISM) — such as tuk-tuks, matatus, and jeepneys — can drive access, affordability, and decarbonization in the Global South.

GloCon 2026 is supported by a coalition of leading organizations, including the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Agence Française de Développement (AFD), Clean Mobility Collective, Kuehne Climate Center, C40 Cities, and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.

Trufi Association understands the critical role of ISM in connecting communities. It fills gaps in formal transport. It empowers local economies. One of our core principles democratizing informal transport data with local OpenStreetMap communities. This helps ensure that transport decisions are based on the ground truth the people who use and need mobility. We are supporting GloCon as a communications and marketing partner, helping amplify the voices and solutions that will shape the future of mobility.

Whether you’re a practitioner, advocate, or a researcher interested in how cities can better integrate ISM, GloCon will be a unique space to learn, collaborate, and reimagine transportation systems that prioritize people over cars.
